Lord, our God, you watch over your creatures with unfailing care. Keep us in the safe embrace of your love. With your strong right hand raise up [Name] and give them the strength of your own power.Minister to them and heal their illnesses, so that they may have from you the help they long for. We ask this through Christ our Lord. —From the Order for the Blessing of the Sick

O Jesus Christ our Lord, grant me joyful acceptance of the surgery which awaits me, and let this be the relief and cure which I seek. Make skilled the work of the surgeon and that of his team, for it is unto their knowledge and skill that I give myself for healing. I pray you, O Lord, that this procedure will be without complication, and that my recovery will be speedy and complete.

Blessed Savior, I thank you that this operation is safely past, and now I rest in your abiding presence, relaxing every tension, releasing every care and anxiety, receiving more and more of your healing life into every part of my being. In moments of pain I turn to you for strength, in times of loneliness I feel your loving nearness. Grant that your life and love and joy may flow through me for the healing of others in your name. Amen.

Most merciful Jesus, who are the consolation and salvation of all who put their trust in you, we humbly beseech you, by your most bitter passion, grant the recovery of health to your servant [Name], provided this be for his/her soul’s welfare, that with us he/she may praise and magnify your holy name. Amen.

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty,” “The Wonder-Worker,” because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and you had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from his cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

(Pause here and silently recall the names of those for whom you are praying)

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for his great goodness and mercy. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Pray three times: O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You! Pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and the Apostles Creed. Then begin each decade with: Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. Then pray the following ten times: For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. After five decades, repeat three times: Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Closing Prayer: Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself. Amen.

O my God, I am heartfully sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins because of your just punishment, but most of all because I have offended you my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to sin no more, and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.

O my God, relying on your infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of your grace and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

O Jesus! Relying on your promises, goodness, and power, I hope to obtain from you the graces necessary for the sanctification and salvation of my soul. Amen.

My soul, confide in Jesus. He can do you every good. He is God and He loves you. In the Blessed Eucharist, he is sweet and mild and generous. Urged by love, he comes to manifest his love to you. Yes, my dear Jesus, you are my hope and my salvation. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in you. I trust, O Lord, that you will enkindle in my heart the flame of your pure love, and a real desire to please you; so that, from this day forward, I may never will anything but what you will. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, take all my freedom, my understanding, and my will. All that I have and cherish you have given to me. I surrender it all to be guided by your will. Your love and your grace are wealth enough for me. Give me these, Lord Jesus, and I ask for nothing more. Amen.
